Ron Howard takes me back to my childhood, watching the black and white TV。 It is a well written book containing a lot of funny stories and memories of the family。 I enjoyed reading it。

Susan Rigetti

I have been a fan of Ron Howard since I saw him in The Music Man。 I of course loved watching him on The Andy Griffith Show and later on Happy Days and American Graffiti。I was so excited when I heard about this book, and even more so when I got a copy from NetGalley for review。 I started this book and I couldn’t put it down。 It was so fun reading the stories of both Ron and Clint telling about being young and growing up in Hollywood to present day。 Reading this book was like sitting around the Ho I have been a fan of Ron Howard since I saw him in The Music Man。 I of course loved watching him on The Andy Griffith Show and later on Happy Days and American Graffiti。I was so excited when I heard about this book, and even more so when I got a copy from NetGalley for review。 I started this book and I couldn’t put it down。 It was so fun reading the stories of both Ron and Clint telling about being young and growing up in Hollywood to present day。 Reading this book was like sitting around the Howard’s house listening to Ron and Clint tell their stories like they are your friends。 Also, this book is a love letter to Rance and Jean Howard, Their parents。 It was absolutely fantastic。 They sucked you in right away and keep you entertained until the last page。 I can’t wait to recommend this book to people。 。。。more

I am a fan of Ron Howard’s work from his Andy Griffith days through American Graffiti and Happy Days。 It was a pleasure to learn about his family and the backstory。 I wasn’t aware as much of Clint and enjoyed reading about him also。 What a terrific family。

This was better than I expected! I really enjoyed reading about the Howard family and what they experienced growing up and living in Hollywood。 The book has a back and forth between brothers format, within each chapter, which really adds to the entertainment value。 I was not aware that they are an acting family, Mom and Dad included, so that was surprising to me。 It was interesting to hear how things go behind the scenes both when the Howard boys were very young and doing TV and movies and how t This was better than I expected! A poignant and nostalgic recollection of two brothers who were child actors, and a love letter to their supportive parents。 A propulsive memoir, filled with surprises, and funny, moving vignettes。 There’s a bit of “aw, shucks” rumination, but it works。 And Clint is an impressive writer: comedic, honest and somber about mistakes he’s made。 I appreciate the way both men look back with humility, and have a deep respect for one another。 It also made me want to drink Tranya。

Really enjoyable book。 Ron Howard’s family seems like a totally decent and well-grounded family, which made this book really refreshing and interesting to read。

Thoroughly enjoyable look at the early lives of Ron and Clint Howard。 They take turns telling their stories from birth into their early 20s。 I would happily read another volume covering the rest of their lives。

The Howard boys began their lives as actors almost as soon as they began walking。 Their story is very different however from some of the Hollywood tell alls of child actors。 These boys were protected and guided by their agent who also happened to be their father and unlike other stories of parental involvement - they were loved and mentored by some of the best the business had to offer。 Ron is the product of his various roles - the cowboy in the white hat, the innocent young man who blushes and The Howard boys began their lives as actors almost as soon as they began walking。 Their story is very different however from some of the Hollywood tell alls of child actors。 These boys were protected and guided by their agent who also happened to be their father and unlike other stories of parental involvement - they were loved and mentored by some of the best the business had to offer。 Ron is the product of his various roles - the cowboy in the white hat, the innocent young man who blushes and also the one person you know would have your back。 Clint, while not the polar opposite, was very much more of the bad boy and dabbled in the drug scene his brother turned away from。 Both of them were absolute professionals。 The fun parts for me were getting a behind the scene look at the making of AMERICAN GRAFFITI and the early days of George Lucas who inspired Ron to switch from acting to directing。 It is a nice look at the gentler days of Hollywood and a love letter by two brothers who love their family and each other。 My thanks to the publisher for the advance copy。 。。。more

The Boys felt like you were listening in at an extended family reunion of the Howards as Ron and Clint held court, retelling some of their favorite family anecdotes from years gone by, the stories everyone knows and the stories that no one has heard before, occasionally interruping each other with interjections and sometimes just telling the same story from the other lens。 I could not put it down, but now I have an enormous list of classics to rewatch and bit parts (and B-movies) to look up and The Boys felt like you were listening in at an extended family reunion of the Howards as Ron and Clint held court, retelling some of their favorite family anecdotes from years gone by, the stories everyone knows and the stories that no one has heard before, occasionally interruping each other with interjections and sometimes just telling the same story from the other lens。 I could not put it down, but now I have an enormous list of classics to rewatch and bit parts (and B-movies) to look up and cameos to watch for。 。。。more
